me ahimsaHow it all canYes, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — along with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) — has expanded powers within 100 miles of any U.S. international border, which includes both land and coastal borders. Here’s a breakdown: ✅ The 100-Mile Border Zone: • The “100-mile zone” refers to an area within 100 miles of any U.S. land or sea border. • This includes: • The Canadian and Mexican borders • The Atlantic and Pacific coasts • The Gulf Coast • Within this zone, CBP (part of the Department of Homeland Security, like ICE) has expanded authority to: • Conduct immigration checks • Set up checkpoints • Conduct certain searches without a warrant or probable cause in specific circumstances (e.g. of vehicles) 👮 ICE vs. CBP Jurisdiction: • CBP (Customs and Border Protection) operates in this 100-mile zone and focuses on border security and immigration enforcement. • ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) generally operates nationwide, not just within the 100-mile zone, but its activity may increase near the border due to coordination with CBP. 🚫 Constitutional Protections: • Even within the 100-mile zone, constitutional rights still apply. • The Fourth Amendment still protects against unreasonable searches and seizures. • However, the courts have granted CBP more leeway in this area, especially concerning vehicle stops and searches at ports of entry (including airports and border crossings). ⚠️ Key Implication: • Roughly two-thirds of the U.S. population lives within this 100-mile zone, meaning millions of people are affected by this policy. • Major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston are all within it.

11122998877A harsh dose of realityIn depth discussions of the days’s happenings, no punches pulled. I hope it stays that way, The Bulwark is one of the few shining beacons of truth in this age of misinformation.

Geoff BeeMeeeeeehI’ve listened to this podcast for awhile now and it does offer many valid criticisms of Trump which isnt tough but keep in mind it does seem they (Tim Miller) are still trickle down Regan repubs. The last episode titled “Hamas sugar daddies” was the last straw for me. I didnt listen to the episode but yea go ahead with bagging Trump but nothing about an unabashed, out of control government who we ( Regressives and Dems alike) are sending the tools of destruction to. Also if your so outraged why dont you offer some fixes like who to contact and what to do. The more I listen it seems like this is performative politics for clicks. We can access this news easily, come at us with more than pearl clutching Tim.
-
jjhop iLove the podcast but…Please change the intro theme. I do not like this new one.
-
Murphy TimBill kristolI listened to a YouTube of bill kristol and John Bolton and was reminded of why in a democrat and how much I really hate republicans . Anyway couldn’t comment there so I figured I’d comment here . Keep up the good work everyone. . Go Birds

Green AuroraMy lifeline!Tim helps keep me grounded, I really appreciate this podcast, it’s straight talk on the current state of the US, delivered with snark. Loved the recent episode with JVL, now I’ll have to get that “JVL is always right” T shirt

Maman d’HenriPay attention to who your advertisers areI really like this podcast and listen to it M-F. But recently I’ve been put off by an ad sponsored by Noem and Homeland Security talking about all the immigrant criminals the DHS is rounding up. Do you have a choice of where your ads come from? Just curious. Still love the podcast.

Neely97May 6 w/ JVLTim speaks to my soul on all levels. I love how he doesn’t shy away from real questions and real answers. And this episode with JVL was definitely the Goldilocks just enough moment. I laughed until I cried - at work in a very Trumpy world, and I don’t even care what everybody thinks. I love that Tim comments on current sports games, too. He’s totally relatable and snarky without being hateful. Love the show.

papanaqI felt like I would pukeI have been listening to the show since day one. I have found much comfort in the words of Charlie and now Tim. Listening to show with JVL: Economic Tsunami is Coming I had so much anxiety I wanted to throw up. We cannot be the boiling frogs. No one is coming to save us. No one is immune to these outcomes. We are responsible! In an age of instant contact we need to be able to come together. I really am feeling like I am going to lose it but want to create something better instead. I am involved in a couple of initiatives but need to do more. If this episode didn’t make you hit the panic button what more is it going to take? The clock is ticking very quickly…

klj5320S.O.S.The DNC needs a motto to focus on Corruption and Kitchen Table. They should put SOS on hates: save our soul, save our State, save our…. America is under assault and sending out the sOS. Is necessary! Tim does a great SOS podcast.

ЮлонаNeocon is in the shadowFrom the left side, it’s still lingering with neocon elements from the liberal which is outdated and needs to transformed into something more tangible and manageable. Old days are not coming back, time to move on.
-
kikiof50Tim is the real dealHe speaks without fear. You have no idea how comforting that is. ❤️
-
CaliforniaLindaThis show keeps me sane.I love Tim's no b.s. approach.
-
spencerlennardFantastic interviewTom Nichols is sooooo great!
-
Dr.NSPTruth telling Tim Rocks!I think Tim Miller is my new favorite person! I have a lot of respect for recovered republicans who can see the flaws in all parties & choose to stand on the side of HUMANITY, FACTS, EQUALITY, & CALLING THE GOP what it really is now… a FAR RIGHT EXTREMIST FASCIST AUTHORITARIANISM DICTATORSHIP REGIME! And Tim lives his life authentically, which I highly admire & respect!🙏🏼
-
the famousitalianStraight talkSmart guests that elevate their listeners. Listen every day now that I found them
-
BeauuuuiNot badTim is a pretty smart guy and I agree with him on most things. I wish he would take some vocal coaching classes. He has an annoying nervous laugh syndrome. He can barely get two sentences out without the nervous laughter. A frequent guest Bill Kristol has the same affliction. When they both are on together, it’s a nervous laugh Palooza. Guys your show would be a lot more entertaining if you would take care of this speech quirk.
-
TeresaShellLoveTim Miller always stands on the side of democracy. He brings the conversation and interviews that we need. These are horrific difficult times & we need ppl speaking the truth. We need for ppl to understand what is really happening. Tim Miller does a great job doing it. He brings facts and truth. He will also let you know what we can do during these times.
-
NellieVOne of my favorite podcastsLOVE ya’ll. You keep me informed, somewhat sane, and laughing. So much respect for being Never Trumpers.

swarthmore alpha wolfBeto O’RourkeI could have used a lot less f-bombs.
-
Belmont5565Cory BookerTim did a great job but too bad Cory didn’t answer any questions. He needs to do more and talk less.(Cory not Tim) This interview proved that the democrats are not equipped to meet the moment. Talking about the past and no answers about the future. I listen to Tim everyday but had to turn it off.
-
Mazatlan Karen'sBulwarkGreat host. Stay strong and Keep up the good work.

Mint teaLove the music at the endI have listened to many political news podcasts and I like the sober insights with some humor. The guests are outstanding. But I want to give special kudos to whoever who chooses the song at the end. It is always fitting. Sometimes it makes me smile. Sometimes it makes me tear up. Sometimes it makes me laugh out loud on the connection to the episode.
-
Holly 🌻Great convos and musicAlways great conversations, balanced and thoughtful, which as an ex-Christian/conservative never-republican democrat I always learn a lot from. I would love if the song at the end of each episode was listed in the show notes :)

RegMT2Jonathan RauchWhy Christianity? Or Judaism or Islam or…any of the large religious sects? Why not a community of people sharing life’s journeys and looking for the good in each other like Ethical Humanism? Agnostics, atheists and theists alike all welcome there.
-
Just plain done!Read the book firstGreat show
-
V-SpainJonathan RauchYes to corruption as unifying message because now his corruption affects all of us- cutting important programs for his gain- Social Security etc. just FOCUS relentlessly!!
-
DenverNon-hiker7Less Michael SteeleI generally enjoy the podcast even as a much more liberal person, but I had to stop listening to the Michael Steele episode. Too many cringe declarative statements that aren’t even logical or considered-Pete Hegseth is “even worse” than Gaetz ? The Magna Carta is your model ? The Magna Carta was historically NOT actually concerned with the “everyday man”; it argued for the rights of all free men, which at the time it was written included primarily everyone BUT the “everyday man”.
-
Agatha248Tim MillerAlways love listening to Tim.
-
Suzikynn541ExcellentTim is so refreshing, authentic and insightful. If you love to The Bulwark, try “I’ve Had It” podcast too.
-
Cheesey5678Can we stop talking about the obvious laws Trump is breaking! What about solutions, what we can do, how to we impeach this cabinet! We all know it’s horrific!
-
MarcnorlTim Miller - an authentic, informative personalityI might disagree with Tim on a few items but a fan of all things bulwark and especially so him. His authenticity is a big part of that
